Get Into Your Sanctuary – This national program, developed by the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, promotes the sites for their recreational and tourism values. Sanctuaries offer a mix of opportunities to experience these ocean and Great Lakes treasures. Get Into Your Sanctuary days are scheduled at the end of July and/or the beginning of August. Check the Calendar for Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary events or go to the national GIYS page for events across the system. An annual GIYS photo contest runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day
Speakers Program – Staff members and volunteers offer talks about a variety of sanctuary topics, including research, resources, volunteer programs and sanctuary management to schools, community associations, civic groups and other organizations. Contact the sanctuary’s outreach team for more information.
Salt Inflatable Whale Visits – The inflatable, life-sized whale model “Salt” can be scheduled for visits to science fairs, festivals, and special events. It’s even been a star at the Boston Boat Show. Visit our Salt page for more information.
