Red Terebellid Worm
 

Red Terebellid Worm (Polycirrus eximius) - The head of this sedentary work has many tentacles that extend in many directions. The body tapers toward the rear and has 25 segments. It lacks gills and eyes. Color of tentacles - red, body - red becoming yellowish toward the posterior. Size: length, 2 ¾", width, ¼". Found in sand or mud, under rocks and in eel grass, from low-tide line to 55'.

   
    Clam Worm (photo needed) - This worm is best known as bait for saltwater fishing in the Northeast. Head region is thicker than the body. Head has obvious set of pinchers. Color, inridescent green, brown, or blue. Size 6-8" long and ½" in diameter. Found in sand, mud, or peat bottoms in protected bays and brackish estuaries from the high-tide line to 600'.
