Bulbous, Spiny-Headed Bottom Dwellers

Northern Searobin  

Northern Searobin - lack feather-like ventral fins, huge pectoral fins, ocellated spot on first dorsal.

   

Shorthorn Sculpin  

Shorthorn Sculpin - short spines on gill cover, eyes closer to the front of the head over mouth.

   

Longhorn Sculpin  

Longhorn Sculpin - mouth further in front, long spine straight back on gill cover.

   

Grubby Sculpin  

Grubby Sculpin - broad dark saddle below the first dorsal fin and two smaller dark saddles below the second dorsal fin, short spines on head and cheeks.
